Thinners, Dispersants

Drilling Fluids – Thinners, Dispersants

Marquis Alliance offers thinners and de-flocculants that help maintain rheological properties amid hostile environments. Thinning agents help reduce viscosity or prevent flocculation, and de-flocculants are typically low-molecular weight anionic polymers that neutralize positive charges on clay edges.

  • Alcomer 72L

Alcomer 72L is a highly efficient, thermally stable drilling fluid thinner or deflocculant. It is a cost effective, environmentally acceptable alternative to heavy metal lignosulphonates, lignite’s and tannins.

  • Alcomer 74

Alcomer 74 is a highly efficient, thermally stable deflocculant or thinner with improved capabilities in high solids and contaminated muds. It is a cost effective, environmentally acceptable alternative to heavy metal lignosulphonates, lignite’s and tannins

  • Desco CF

Desco CF is a tannin-based thinner used in water-based drilling fluids.

  • Lignite

Lignite occurring as a black powder. The Lignite has a thinning action and an oil emulsifier. The product is more stable than lignosulfnate at high temperatures. Lignite works best in the presence of hydroxyl ions (pH 9.5 or higher).

  • SAPP

SAPP is the abbreviation used for the scientific name Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate (Na2H2P2O7)

  • TKPP

TKPP or Tetrapotassium Pyrophosphate is a white granular material, highly soluble in water, which gives alkaline solutions. It is used as a sequestering agent, highly soluble in aqueous solutions; excellent deflocculating / dispersion properties; commonly used in liquid detergents.
