The core business of Marquis Alliance is the design and implementation of drilling fluid systems for oil and natural gas producers with an emphasis on servicing the ongoing major resource plays. The designed drilling fluid encompasses the functions of cleaning the hole, stabilizing the rock drilled, controlling subsurface pressures, preventing metal accretion, enhancing drilling rates and protecting potential production zones while conserving the environment in the surrounding surface and subsurface area. Marquis Alliance markets its technical expertise and services to conventional oil, heavy oil, oil sands and natural gas exploration and production entities by emphasizing the historical success of its patented and proprietary drilling fluid systems and the technical expertise and experience of its personnel. Secure Energy Services completed the acquisition of XL Fluid Systems in July 2011. Marquis Alliance is excited to have XL Fluids as part of the drilling fluids team managing operations in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
Marquis Alliance’s environmental services division provides environmental and drilling fluids waste disposal services primarily to oil and gas producers. The business involves determining the appropriate processes for disposing of, or recycling, fluids and/or drilling waste produced by drilling operations and executing various related services necessary to dispose of this waste. In addition, Marquis Alliance also provides a reclamation service to assess and determine the most appropriate and cost effective method for reclaiming the land back to its original pre‑drilling state. Marquis Alliance’s environmental scientists and chemists, in conjunction with its drilling fluids specialists, work to execute the reclamation and disposal process.
Marquis Alliance’s equipment rental division provides solids control and ancillary equipment for drilling operations in both Western Canada and the Rocky Mountain States of the United States. Marquis Alliance’s current fleet of high speed centrifuges, drying shakers, bead recovery units, tanks and ancillary equipment is offered as a stand alone package or part of an integrated package with the drilling fluids and waste management services. The centrifuge and hydraulic stand package is a state of the art system designed for high end drilling fluids to reduce fluid and moving costs between wells while providing one of the safest platforms in Western Canada.
